Food Coma
If I’ve had an intense workout and I put my body through hell, one of the first things I crave are pancakes. They a filling, satisfying and they put you in this weird post-breakfast trance that you want to experience over again.
I was walking through the aisle’s of Lowes Food and I noticed a new pancake product on the shelf. I think I was in the baking aisle looking for unsweetened shaved coconut or coconut oil and there I saw Bob’s Red Mill Paleo Pancakes. I’m not going to lie to you, they were like $10.00 – but I went for it.
Ingredients – The Most Important Detail
The mix contains: Almond flour, arrowroot starch, organic coconut flour, organic coconut sugar, sea salt, cream of tartar, baking soda.
The added ingredients are: water, eggs and coconut oil {butter if you can tolerate dairy}
What it doesn’t contain?
Gluten
Daily
Artificial sweeteners
There are more carbs than other paleo pancakes but the quality of carbs is excellent and you will definitely feel satisfied after eating these. They are still relatively low in calories. 1/3 cup of the dry mix is 190 calories.
Taste – The Second Most Important Detail
So what I love about these is that they have the texture of regular pancakes. They are fluffy but not too sweet. I really don’t like a sweet pancake unless I decide to put sweet toppings on it.
Where Can I Find It?
I found this product at Lowes Food. It can also be found on Amazon, Vitacost, and Thrive Market.

They are really easy to make – except maybe when you’re absolutely starving and in a hurry. If you can’t have butter but miss the salty flavor, try using coconut oil and using a little bit of himalayan pink salt. It tastes just like butter! Then, top it with a little honey and you have some killer paleo pancakes 🙂
Enjoy – and thanks for reading x
